The Tonga Room is San Francisco's most theatrical bar. Created by a Hollywood set designer around what was once the Fairmont's indoor swimming pool, it surrounds a central lagoon where the band performs from a floating boat, and every so often a simulated tropical storm, with rain, thunder and lightning, rolls through the room. Tropical cocktails and a full menu complete a long-standing Nob Hill institution.
