Hotel Monteleone's revolving carousel bar in the French Quarter, turning since 1949 and serving classic New Orleans cocktails.

Installed in 1949, the 25-seat Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone turns slowly beneath a painted carnival canopy, completing a full rotation every 15 minutes. It is one of the French Quarter's most beloved rooms, long associated with writers including Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote, and the Vieux Carré cocktail was created by its bartenders. Live music plays seven nights a week.
