The original Magnolia Bakery on Bleecker Street in the West Village, opened in 1996 and famous for its cupcakes and banana pudding.

Magnolia Bakery opened its first shop in 1996 on the corner of Bleecker and West 11th Streets in the West Village, and its classic American baking, above all its cupcakes and banana pudding, made it one of New York's best-known bakeries. The original corner shop remains the brand's home, with its window display of cupcakes on Bleecker Street.
