Miami Beach's most storied restaurant, serving its celebrated stone crab claws at the southern tip of South Beach since 1913.
Joe's Stone Crab began in 1913 as a small seafood stand opened by Joe and Jennie Weiss, and grew into the restaurant that defines dining in Miami Beach. The building is a designated city historic landmark, and the restaurant received a James Beard Foundation America's Classics award in 1998. Stone crab claws are the reason to come: they are served fresh during Florida's regulated harvest season, from 15 October to 1 May, alongside classic sides in a lively, traditional dining room a few blocks from South Pointe.
