Ras Mohammed, at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula where the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba meet, is Egypt's first national park and one of the Red Sea's most celebrated marine reserves. This excursion reaches it by road rather than by boat, following the park's tracks to the mangrove channels along its shore and to Magic Lake, a saline lagoon within the protected area. Snorkelling from the shore is part of the plan, subject to the day's sea conditions and the park's rules.
