Pennsylvania State Capitol Guided Tour

Joseph Huston's Capitol

Dedicated on 4 October 1906, the Pennsylvania State Capitol was designed by the Philadelphia architect Joseph Huston in the American Renaissance style, and its 272-foot dome was inspired by Michelangelo's design for St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Guided tours take about 30 to 45 minutes and lead through the rotunda and other highlights of the building.
