The capital's monuments after dark

Washington's monuments take on a different character at night, when floodlights pick out the marble and the crowds thin. This guided evening tour travels by bus or minibus between viewpoints on and around the National Mall: the Bartholdi Fountain, with views of the Capitol and the Botanic Garden; the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial, looking along the Mall to the Washington Monument; President's Park, with a view of the White House; and the illuminated Martin Luther King Jr. and World War II memorials.
