A day in ancient Thebes

Luxor stands on the site of ancient Thebes, capital of Egypt's New Kingdom. This guided day crosses the Nile to the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs were buried in painted rock-cut tombs, including the small tomb of Tutankhamun. Back on the East Bank, the visit continues at Karnak, the immense temple precinct of Amun-Ra and its forest of columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall.
