Snorkelling America's coral reef
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park was the first undersea park in the United States. Its visitor-services concession, operating in the park since 1963, runs snorkelling trips from the park marina to the reefs offshore, where shallow coral heads shelter parrotfish, angelfish, sea fans and, often, sea turtles. Equipment is available to rent, and the crew gives a briefing before guests enter the water.
