French Quarter Guided Tour
New Orleans · Louisiana
Guided Tour
The story of the Vieux Carré
The French Quarter is the oldest part of New Orleans, a grid of narrow streets lined with wrought-iron balconies, courtyards and Creole townhouses. This guided walk starts on Toulouse Street and strolls through the heart of the Quarter: along Bourbon Street, famous for its music and bars, and elegant Royal Street with its galleries and antique shops, past the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, to finish at Jackson Square in front of St. Louis Cathedral and the Cabildo. Along the way an English-speaking guide explains the French, Spanish and Creole history that shaped the city.
