Things to Do

The 1001 Nights Show

Locally known as the ‘Alf Layla w Layla’, this event is one that simply can’t be missed on a vacation in Hurghada. Held daily at the open-air theatre of the Fantasia four-star Hotel in the Egyptian resort, this exotic and oriental-showcased event depicts scenes from the legend of the Scheherezade, the times of the Pharaos and ancient cults. The spectacle is preceded by a traditional Egyptian dinner, and the performance is supported by sound and light effects, belly dancers, horse and carriage riders, as well as traditional Nubian music played on drums.

The Hurghada Marina Boulevard

Evenings in Hurghada are bound to end with a leisure stroll along the Marina Boulevard. Here, multi-million dollar yachts can be seen floating on the majestic Red Sea, while tourists from all over the world remain in awe at the magical sun setting over Egypt’s land and sea. Sun seekers, young and old, can bask in the luxury of the Marina, so this one is definitely a must before settling down in one of the up-scale bars, pubs or cafés nearby.

The Church of St. Mary

This church was founded in 2008 and is the first evangelical church in the Red Sea. The establishment has already started working with children in need, such as impoverished and sick children, offering them hope, a family and a chance for a better future. With an interesting architecture and a warm atmosphere, this little church in the heart of Hurghada is something you will never expect to experience in Egypt

Abdulmoneim Riadh Mosque

Dubbed the Big Mosque, this architectural marvel stands tall on its own, offering tourists the unique opportunity of connecting with the culture and daily life of the beach town. With a classic Islamic architectural make-up and an intricate design, this mosque is ideally located between the main street and the ocean. The minarets can be seen from long distances, and its arches, domes and hallways feature delicate carvings details. What’s more, every day, the call to prayer can be heard resonating from within the mosque’s walls.
